Tuesday News Round-Up – 12th February 2019

Cockroach Poker Review

Cockroach Poker (also known as Kaker Laken Poker) is a game like no other! The amount of joy and playtime I have got from this tiny-boxed game has been incredible. If someone who hasn’t played any proper games in the past but want to try something out, this will always find its way to the table. In Cockroach poker, you will need to have your wits about you and be sure that you stay on top of what cards you have unsuccessfully guessed or palmed off. There are no winners here, just the loser, and you sure don’t want to be that person!

The Quacks of Quedlingburg Review

2018 seems to be the year for Wolfgang Warsch, designer of The Mind and Ganz Schön Clever (both of which had nominations in the Spiel Des Jahre). He seems to have produced games that have been incredibly well received and have also created a fair amount of buzz, especially with The Mind! His big box game for 2018 was no exception, the fantastically named Quacks of Quedlinburg!

Airecon – What is it and what to expect!

In recent years, I’ve noticed more and more conventions cropping up across the UK dedicated to board gaming, all with the aim of bringing like-minded people together to enjoy this fantastic hobby. I for one love a great convention/event! Being able to meet new people and share ideas and experiences within the hobby is a great opportunity and being able to spend a few days fully dedicated to the table is a massive tick in my book!
Airecon aims to champion this, encouraging people to come and sit down and just play, to their hearts content.
