Stormbringer Magazine – An Introduction

As some of you may already know, Hachette Partworks have been partnering with Games Workshop for a number of years, publishing a series of magazines offering up lore, rules, painting guides and of course, miniatures! These magazines have covered both the 40K and AoS realms and have allowed those both new and old to the hobby to either start a collection or grow it.

Ramen Fury! Review

Ramen Fury is cute little card game that has you battling it out to create the tastiest ramen, combining flavour sachets and ingredients to score the most points, while also trying to halt your opponents scoring by lacing their Ramen with flaming hot chillies! Let’s see what I thought of this food-based card game.

For those based in the UK, you will likely know how supermarkets are starting to cotton on to the board game trend. Tesco and Asda are just a couple of examples of the major retailers who are starting to stock the less generic titles such as Monopoly and Cluedo, opting instead to offer the likes of Codenames and Exploding Kittens. Don’t get me wrong, it is nothing like you FLGS, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction in my opinion. Just recently however, I managed to find Ramen Fury in Asda, at a very reasonable price of just £1!!! Of course, it went straight into my basket, ready for an afternoon of gaming that day!

My New Years Resolution!

Well, 2019 has been a roller-coaster year for me, both in my board gaming and in general life! Work has dominated my free time which has, especially towards the end of the year, made it very hard to commit to the hobby as much as I used to and this has meant various elements were left behind, including this website. But now it is time to make a New Years Resolution!

My work has sent me all over the place and this should hopefully come to a stop in the New Year, meaning I can focus more on the things I enjoy! For a start, I will be looking at posting on a weekly basis to the website, with some content already lined up. This will be a mix of reviews, previews, news and features, and this will fall in line with the various pieces I produce for Zatu as well.

Talking of Zatu, I have taken a back seat in recent months, and I am hoping turn this around as well, with videos being produced for both my channel and for Zatu, along with the articles I regularly provide to Zatu.

I have also committed to a 10×10 challenge for 2020! I wanted to do one last year but didn’t get the chance so I have got a head start this year and set up all up in preparation. Look out for a separate article detailing what games I hope to play over the New Year!

Finally, my Instagram really needs some love and attention, something it has lacked in the last month or so. Since this is where it all began, I am going to make sure to post regularly on there, so you guys can see what I am up to and that will be the first port of call for any new updates I may have.

In terms of events I will be attending during 2020, I will be at the UKGE and TTGL as usual, as well as Airecon, if I can get accommodation sorted. Let me know what events you will be attending and we can look at meeting up for a game or two!

That leaves me to wish you all a very happy New Year and I hope it brings with it lots of gaming joy for you! I am certain it will for me!

Update and Tabletop Gaming Live

Hey there everyone! I hope you are all doing well and you have all had an awesome summer. I certainly have but unfortunately, that has come at the expense of the blog. If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I have been in Germany on business, throwing a bit of a spanner in the works. Either way, this is just a quick update and to give you some news about Tabletop Gaming Live!

Thankfully though, I am now returning to the UK and this will allow me a greater amount of time to dedicate to the blog, to my YouTube channel and to everything else that surrounds the Honest Meeple blog. I have a few exciting ideas that I am planning out at the moment so I’m hoping I can share those with you soon!

To kick start my return to the UK, I will of course be attending Tabletop Gaming Live, at the Alexandra Palace in London. Last year was the very first year the event was hosted and it was a great success. I really enjoyed the show and because it was in its infancy, you didn’t feel overwhelmed, something I certainly felt when I visited my first UKGE.

If you are thinking of heading to TTGL this year, let me know! I will be working on the Zatu stand as well as floating around the other stalls and experiencing the different elements of the show so don’t be afraid to say hi, even if I have a camera in my hand!
