Ramen Fury! Review

Ramen Fury is cute little card game that has you battling it out to create the tastiest ramen, combining flavour sachets and ingredients to score the most points, while also trying to halt your opponents scoring by lacing their Ramen with flaming hot chillies! Let’s see what I thought of this food-based card game.

For those based in the UK, you will likely know how supermarkets are starting to cotton on to the board game trend. Tesco and Asda are just a couple of examples of the major retailers who are starting to stock the less generic titles such as Monopoly and Cluedo, opting instead to offer the likes of Codenames and Exploding Kittens. Don’t get me wrong, it is nothing like you FLGS, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction in my opinion. Just recently however, I managed to find Ramen Fury in Asda, at a very reasonable price of just £1!!! Of course, it went straight into my basket, ready for an afternoon of gaming that day!

Cockroach Poker Review

Cockroach Poker (also known as Kaker Laken Poker) is a game like no other! The amount of joy and playtime I have got from this tiny-boxed game has been incredible. If someone who hasn’t played any proper games in the past but want to try something out, this will always find its way to the table. In Cockroach poker, you will need to have your wits about you and be sure that you stay on top of what cards you have unsuccessfully guessed or palmed off. There are no winners here, just the loser, and you sure don’t want to be that person!

He seems to have produced games that have been incredibly well received and have also created a fair amount of buzz, especially with The Mind! His big box game for 2018 was no exception, the fantastically named Quacks of Quedlinburg!

Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game

If I was to ask anyone to name a board game that saw players attempting to identify a killer by analysing both the crime scene and the clues left behind, you could be sure the majority of those people would answer Cluedo (Clue for our American friends). While this game would fit into this category, it’s fair to say it doesn’t involve any “real” detective work and the way you get to find the killer is a frantic finger-pointing race. Portal Games want to change that.

Gutterhead Review

Many will have seen the rise of games that challenge your dark humour and encourage you to be what can only be defined as a terrible person! The likes of Card’s Against Humanity tunes into people’s darkest thoughts and makes it necessary for people to come up with the most twisted things imaginable. I have tried my fair share of games like this but there is now a new kid on the block looking to tune into people’s dark sides. Gutterhead!
